Position Summary
We’re hiring a dependable, hands-on Installer/Technician to join our growing field team. This role focuses on installing and servicing low-voltage and networking systems in homes, businesses, and aboard vessels. You’ll work on cabling, cameras, wireless gear, satellite internet, and related tech projects. Adaptability and pride in clean installs are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Low-Voltage Cabling & Infrastructure

Pull, terminate, label, and test Ethernet, coax, and related cabling

Maintain tidy, well-routed, and clearly labeled cable runs

Work in new construction and retrofit environments
Network & Device Installation

Install routers, switches, wireless access points, and related hardware

Configure basic connectivity and verify performance
-
Assist senior techs on more complex network builds
Security, Sat, and Specialty Systems

Install, aim, and connect IP camera systems and NVRs

Support indoor/outdoor satellite internet installs
-
Assist with specialty projects as needed (AV, racks, power backups, etc.)
Jobsite Execution & Documentation

Read plans/work orders and complete tasks with minimal supervision

Keep jobsites clean and professional
-
Document work completed in the job/ticketing system

Follow Homeport safety standards and install best practices
What We’re Looking For
-
1+ year hands-on installation experience in low-voltage, AV, networking, or related trade
-
Comfortable using ladders, power tools, and test tools
-
Reliable, punctual, and able to work solo or with a crew
-
Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship

Valid driver’s license, clean driving record,

Able to pass a background check
Bonus Points

Basic networking knowledge (IP addressing, device setup)

Experience with satellite internet equipment

Marine/boat install experience

Familiarity with racks, UPS/battery backups, or AV installs
Physical / Practical Requirements

Lift/carry up to ~75 lbs

Comfortable on ladders, rooftops, crawlspaces, and tight compartments

Able to work outdoors in Southeast Alaska weather
